The goal of the YMCA Gymnastics Program is to develop your child into the best gymnast he or she can possibly be. Our program will help build self-confidence as well as to teach and lead the YMCA values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty.

Our gymnastics program is designed for children ages 1 - 18 years. We have a fully equipped gymnastics center and teach gymnastics, strength, flexibility, coordination and self-confidence! Learn More

Toddlers will explore the basic tumbling skills with emphasis on confidence, following directions, listening, vault, bars, beam and cooperating. Learn More
Young Basics
Young Basics gymnastics classes teach students the fundamentals of the sport. We follow USAG recommendations for skill progressions for Level 1 and Level 2. Parents are given the convienance to choose from one or two days per week. Students will be taught Level 1 and Level 2 skills on balance beam, uneven bars, vault, and floor exercise. This class is designed for a student with little to no previous gymnastics experience. (Ages 5-7yrs)
Hot Shots
The Hot Shots class progresses students into USAG Level 3 skills. Gymnasts will progress skills learned in Young Basics as well as develop new skills on all events. The gymnast must advance from Young Basics or have been evaluated by a YMCA Gymnastics Instructor to register for this class. (Ages 5-7yrs)
Rollers
Rollers gymnastics classes teach students the fundamentals of the sport. We follow USAG recommendations for skill progression of Level 1. Students will be taught Level 1 skills on balance beam, uneven bars, vault, and floor exercise. This class is designed for a student with little to no previous gymnastics experience. (Ages 7yrs +)
Swingers
Swingers gymnastics classes follow USAG recommendations for skill progression of Level 2. Gymnasts will progress the skills learned in Rollers as well as develop new skills on all events. The gymnast must have advanced from Rollers or have been evaluated by a YMCA Gymnastics Instructor to register for this class. (Ages 7yrs +)
Kippers
Kippers classes will progress the skills learned in Swingers as well as develop new skills on all events. The gymnast must have advanced from Swingers or have been evaluated by a YMCA Gymnastics Instructor to register for this class.(Ages 7yrs +)
Home School Gymnastics
The home school class is designed for beginners through advanced level gymnastics. We adjust based on skill ability in this class. We will teach participants on all apparatus. This class will follow USAG skill recommendations for skill progressions. (Ages 7yrs +)
Flyers
Flyers gymnastics classes are mastering USAG Level 3. This Level gives the gymnast the opportunity to try competitive team at a "get your feet wet" level. Gymnasts must have advanced from the Hot Shots or Kippers classes or have been evaluated by a YMCA Gymnastics Instructor to register for this class.

Beginner Boys
Beginner boys gymnastics class teach students the fundamentals of the sport. Participants will learn basic boys skills on floor exercise, men’s high bar, parallel bars, mushroom, rings, and vault. Our head instructor for this class currently a men's Level 10 competitive gymnast. This class is designed for students with little to no previous gymnastics experience. (Ages 6-10yrs)
Advanced Boys
The advanced boys gymnastics class will progress skills learned in the beginner boys class and teach new skills on all boy's apparatus. Gymnasts must have advanced from the Beginner Boys class or have been evaluated by our head instructor for the boy's classes to register.

Just Tumbling
Trying to get that pesky back handspring? Just tumbling is a one hour once weekly class to help students develop their tumbling skills on floor exercise. Many of our participants are cheerleaders that are trying to develop new tumbling skills. Classes are taught on our state of the art spring floor and tumble-trak. (Ages 5yrs +)
Ages 5yrs and Up
Team placement is based on ability not age. Currently we teach and compete at USAG levels 4-9 and Prep Optional. In addition we now host the Mount Vernon High School Gymnastics Club. The YMCA Gymnastics Team has held top honors in State and National Level competitions. Currently our level 3, 4, 7, and 8 teams hold first place titles from our Regional Championship meets.
Our Coaches
Our coaches are knowledgeable and caring. Most of which have been coaching with us for many years. Some are competitive gymnasts still. We are USA Gymnastics Safety Certified and Professional Members of USAG. We are current in First Aid/CPR. We hold the highest standards in training and equipment.
Mom / Pop & Me
Mom/Pop & Me classes offers participants a fantastic opportunity for socialization while developing gross and fine motor skills in a fun atmosphere on tot sized equipment. Parent participation is required in this class. (Ages Walking-2yrs)
Tiny Tots Gymnastics
Tiny tots gymnastics classes offers participants an opportunity to improve basic gross and fine motor skills in a fun atmosphere. Classes are teaching the basic fundamentals of gymnastics on tot sized equipment.

Superstar Tots Gymnastics
Superstar tots gymnastics begin teaching basic skill progressions and terminology for our advanced Tiny Tots. Participants will progress skills learned in the Tiny Tots class while learning new skills on all tot sized apparatus. (Ages 3-4yrs)
